Finding the Right Credit Repair

Finding the right credit repair company can be more challenging than you think. The money that you will spend at some credit repair companies could be a waste when you end up doing half of the footwork that you paid them to do. Be aware of what kind of company you are choosing to help you in repairing your credit.

You have a choice in how you can pay for your credit repair. You can choose to make monthly installments or pay a flat fee. The trouble with some of the companies that let you pay in installments is they are usually the ones who end up taking your money and not doing all the thing they promised to in repairing your credit. You may end up sending letters to your creditors that the credit repair company has sent to you. Remember that is what you paid them for. Most credit repair companies who accept payments each month do about that much work each month to repair your credit. They work slowly and don’t do as much as they could do to repair your credit.

If you pay a flat fee up front to a company to repair your credit, you will usually get faster and more reliable service. They will be on top of things because you have paid them a lump sum for payment instead of a little each month in payments.

You will need to find a credit repair company that isn’t afraid to stand behind a guarantee. Even though no credit repair company can guarantee corrections or deletions in your credit report because some laws will prevent them from doing so, they can give you a guarantee of your satisfaction in their company working to take care of as many disputes as they can.

Once you have hired a credit repair company, what happens next? You will most likely have to obtain three credit reports, one from each major credit bureau.

Once you get your three reports, there are few questions you will need to know the answers to:

• Will you have to mail the letters if dispute yourself or will that company do that for you?
• Are you going to be able to have contact with that company and be kept updated regularly on the status of your credit repair? You don’t want to be left in the dark about any issues with your credit repair.
• Are you going to be able to call that company and get the information that you ask for?
• When you do call, will be able to get the current status of your credit repair?
When shopping for a credit repair company, find one that has been in business for at least five years. Go online and check out their history. You deserve to know everything there is to know about them if you are going to give them your hard earned money to help you repair your credit.
